Testimonials

Marie’s voice is a perfect blend of compassion and authority. I can always rely on her for an intelligent interpretation and delivery…a delight to work with. (Hire this woman. She has the voice of a goddess. And she doesn’t complain when the announce booth falls down around her!)

I started engineering at Fleetwood Recording Studios in 1974 as a tape editor (yes the old-fashioned way — with a razor blade.) Even though script errors contributed to my income, I appreciated the ability of a talented voice-over artist to cut down editing time in order to concentrate on delivering the message and the often-missing nuances of a recorded media message.

After starting my own company in 1980 and moving north of Boston, I was at a loss to find competent voice talent that came without exhorbitant travel expense. Luckily, my luck changed when I heard the demo tape of Marie Harris.

It’s commonly known that hiring someone based on a demo recording is risky at best. However, I will gladly put my reputation on the line when I recommend Marie. She is both flexible and creative, takes direction with ease, and always keeps client satisfaction as her top goal.

Listen to her demo or just give her a call. Obviously, that’s the best way to find out if she’s the voice for your project. I consider her to be the best I’ve worked with.

For over seventeen years Marie Harris provided consistently excellent voiceover material for educational documentaries I produced while at the University of New Hampshire. She also does great work on commercial spots and PSAs!

– Dorothy Ahlgren, President Atlantic Media, Ltd.

We have enjoyed working with Marie Harris for over ten years! As producers of informational programs that reach wide and diverse audiences, we recognized from the beginning Marie’s ability to help us deliver information and important messages with a voice talent that is clear and reassuring. In fact, we continue to receive positive feedback from our clients – specifically mentioning the quality of Marie’s narration and its effect on people.

Marie quickly gains a sense of “the big picture” of any project she is working on. Her experience as a writer makes her a natural storyteller and we appreciate her on-the-spot input on scripts she is narrating for us.

Not only is Marie a very talented professional, she is fine person,  always interested in our projects, committed to doing quality work, and thoroughly enjoyable to work with!

– Walt & Sue Staples; Visual Impressions

I hired Marie Harris as the narrator for three programs I produced on breast cancer research. I chose her because the seriousness of the subject matter called for a voice that possessed knowledge and maturity. I found her to be very professional, and the recording sessions were always smooth and efficient.

-Deb Bergeron; Writer/Producer

Walking Song

WALKING SONG …reminding herself that she was only an elderly woman who had got up too early in the morning and journeyed too far, that the despair creeping over her was merely her despair, her personal weakness, and that even if she got a sunstroke and went mad the rest of the world would go […]
